“Before studying at WISE, I was not clear about the exam structure and the different types of IELTS tasks, but after learning at WISE and receiving dedicated guidance from my teachers, I understood the structure of the IELTS exam, the types of tasks, and how to develop my skills or find methods to achieve the highest IELTS scores.”
This is the sharing of Thao Nhu, a high school girl who has been with WISE English for a year and has achieved the impressive overall band score of 7.5.
I. Thao Nhu’s Journey to Conquer IELTS
Before participating in the IELTS exam, I only had one month to prepare. For Speaking, I read and reread all the predicted test questions available on the internet, while for Writing, I studied all the sample essays and learned every type of essay format. Regarding Reading and Listening, I completed all the practice tests in Cambridge IELTS books 15 to 17 and practiced every day.
As for exam tips, Thao Nhu didn’t really have any specific tricks; she believes that as long as she is comfortable and not anxious during the exam, she will achieve her highest possible score.
The student also shared her experience in preparing for Reading and Listening to achieve an impressive score of 8.5 today. She emphasized the importance of understanding vocabulary, grammar, and the content of the exam, stating that the key is to practice as much as possible while fully concentrating on the listening tasks.
II. Achievement Table
After a period of hard work and effort with the support of WISE English, Thao Nhu has now achieved the desired band score for a high school student and can continue her dream of being admitted to her desired university:
- Listening: 8
- Reading: 8.5
- Writing: 6.0
- Speaking: 6.0
III. Impressions of the Learning Methods and Environment at WISE
During her year of study at WISE, Thao Nhu had many positive impressions of the school, saying, “The teachers are very kind, friendly, and passionate about teaching their students. The administrative staff is also very enthusiastic, always ready to help me with even the smallest issues. Additionally, I really like the dynamic and lively learning environment that creates excitement for us.”
She also shared that the learning materials at WISE are filled with valuable knowledge and tips for the exam. Regarding WISE’s two famous learning methods, the 6-Step Vocabulary Learning and Automatic Listening, she finds both methods very interesting and effective. The 6-Step Vocabulary Learning method is very suitable for those just starting to learn IELTS and can be highly effective if the correct approach is applied. As for the Automatic Listening method, students can find videos based on their interests and appropriate lengths. Once they have developed certain listening skills, they can explore more academic topics.
After a long process of hard work and effort, Thao Nhu can now achieve her previous goal of using her IELTS certificate to gain admission to her desired university. We wish Thao Nhu continued growth in the future and hope she spreads the NLP Learning Method to even more people!
