Attracting a large number of high school and university students across Da Nang City since the school-level competition round, the Danang WISE English Olympic 2023 has been making waves with its professional organization.
Accordingly, the Da Nang Youth Union and the Da Nang Student Association recently collaborated with the WISE English Language Center system to organize the “Danang City English Olympic – Danang WISE English Olympic” for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Specifically, the “Danang City English Olympic – Danang WISE English Olympic” competition is held from February 24 to May 28, targeting students, youth union members, and young people in the city aged 16 to 18 (grades 10 to 12), as well as students from colleges and universities in Da Nang. The aim is to create an English playground that adopts a professional approach aligned with international standards.
The competition is divided into two categories:
Category A: For high school students, continuing education center students, and vocational school students.
Category B: For university and college students (excluding English majors and students from the University of Foreign Languages).
Each category consists of three rounds.
Round 1: The school-level competition.
Round 2: For Category A, this is the district-level round; for Category B, this is the university and college-level round. These rounds are conducted online in the form of multiple-choice tests.
Final Round: The city-level final is held in person, featuring seven teams representing the districts in Category A, two teams representing colleges, and six teams representing universities that have passed the previous two rounds.
Mr. Le Cong Hung, Vice President of the Central Vietnam Student Association, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union, and President of the Da Nang Student Association, stated:
“Recognizing the urgent need to enhance English proficiency among young people, the Da Nang Youth Union and the Vietnam Student Association in Da Nang aspire to collaborate with various organizations to establish an annual competition with high academic quality. This initiative aligns with the needs of young people and provides a favorable environment for them to practice and improve their English skills.”
