As an intelligent, dynamic, and talented girl, Le Hoang Khanh Trang has excellently won second place in the English Speaking Contest in Da Nang City. No one would have thought that this talented student once felt disappointed in herself for missing the opportunity to become a distinguished student simply because she was temporarily complacent about learning English.
I. Khanh Trang’s Journey to Conquer English
Talking about her process of learning English, Khanh Trang shared: “I did not perform well (if not to say quite poorly) in English for 7 years. I used to think that English was the hardest subject in the world and that I would never conquer this subject. I admired, and even envied, those who excelled in English, and I wished I could communicate fluently like them.”
Although she had been exposed to and built a basic foundation in English from a young age, few people knew that Khanh Trang still faced significant obstacles in her English learning journey. Because she could not find an effective learning method and apply grammar tenses properly, Trang became discouraged and neglected to keep updating her English knowledge. She shared: “Because I didn’t put in the effort, combined with my stubbornness, I remained stuck for 7 years, constantly struggling with tenses and not updating my knowledge, gradually forgetting much of what I had learned.”
After struggling for 7 years without finding the right direction in her IELTS preparation, Khanh Trang stumbled upon WISE through Facebook. She shared that she was intrigued by a unique learning method she had just heard of for the first time: “When I learned about WISE, what impressed me the most was the NLP learning method. “It feels like I’m a kid just learning English. I learn everything naturally, almost by heart. But then, the knowledge gradually settles in my brain. So, that helps me solidify my knowledge. I also know that I am on the right track.
I see that I still need to improve a lot, but I have become more confident in areas where I was previously lacking. I feel that I am on the right path to further develop my English.
At WISE, I study in an open environment, interacting with many talented young people, which provides me with great motivation to continue learning English. The teachers are also very enthusiastic in answering and supporting me.”
