I. Minh Hoang’s IELTS Journey
Admitting that he used to struggle with English, Minh Hoang bravely faced his weaknesses and sought effective learning methods. After some research, Minh Hoang came to WISE English, and with the NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) learning method, he exclaimed that “this is the best 6 months of my life” when holding the IELTS certificate he worked hard for.
Despite having little experience preparing for the IELTS exam, Minh Hoang shared some advice: “If you really want to excel in reading, I recommend reading articles on topics you enjoy; there are many websites that can help with that. If you want to improve your listening skills, there are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube for listening practice. Although it might be a bit difficult at first, be patient, and you’ll catch up eventually.” Regarding speaking skills, he said, “Just be yourself; try to talk about what you think or know. Consider the question and expand on it from your perspective.”
II. Achievements
Breaking the stereotype that starting from scratch in IELTS requires a lot of time and makes it hard to increase scores, WISER Pham Minh Hoang achieved 7.5 IELTS from scratch in just 6 months with impressive scores:

III. Experience at WISE English
“The teachers are really friendly, like my own family,” is Minh Hoang’s heartfelt impression after 6 months at WISE. “They are always open about their thoughts and feelings, and they never abandoned me, even though I was a very lazy student. They always encouraged me to do my homework.”
Sharing about the 6-step vocabulary learning method and automatic listening, Minh Hoang found that “it’s like an upgraded version of what I’ve learned. Automatic listening involves transcribing what you hear, and that was something I had been missing. The automatic listening method is genuinely helpful. The 6-step listening method is also fantastic. For example, when I learn new words from an article, I look up the words, learn their meanings, and later realize I’ve completely forgotten them. But with the 6-step vocabulary method, I actually learn examples, antonyms, and synonyms, which I think is a great way to remember vocabulary.”
Regarding the materials provided by WISE, Minh Hoang found them very useful, with many readings he couldn’t find elsewhere that truly matched his skills. The books are also easy to understand, absorb, and closely aligned with the actual exam format.
Minh Hoang also mentioned his future plans to use this certificate to apply to his desired universities. He wishes that other WISE students achieve even more high scores with the NLP learning method.
