II. Chiến lược làm bài Flow Chart Completion IELTS Listening
Loại 1: Điền từ được nhắc trong bài nghe vào chỗ trống
- Đọc kĩ đề bài và chú ý Word Limit.
- Nhìn tổng quan sơ đồ được cho để xác định nội dung chính sẽ nghe và số giai đoạn. Gạch chân từ khóa ở mỗi giai đoạn đồng thời đoán từ đồng nghĩa của từ khóa này.
- Dựa vào điểm ngữ pháp trong câu để đoán câu trả lời
- Nghe và trả lời câu hỏi
- Lập bảng Keyword Table
Loại 2: Nghe và chọn 1 trong các options
- Đọc kĩ đề bài. Xác định số lượng đáp án bạn cần điền
- Nhìn tổng quan sơ đồ được cho để xác định nội dung chính sẽ nghe và số giai đoạn. Gạch chân từ khóa ở mỗi giai đoạn đồng thời đoán từ đồng nghĩa của từ khóa này.
- Dựa vào điểm ngữ pháp trong câu để đoán câu trả lời

III. Các bẫy và lỗi sai thường gặp trong Flow Chart Completion IELTS Listening
- Bạn không hiểu những biểu tượng và mũi tên khác nhau trong flow chart.
- Bạn điền nhiều sơn số lượng từ yêu cầu.
- Bạn không biết những từ vựng miêu tả đồ vật, quá trình, chu kỳ xuất hiện trong đề bài.
IV. Các tips hay ho và dễ áp dụng Flow Chart Completion IELTS Listening
- Chú ý nghe các từ chỉ thứ tự như Firstly, Next, Finally,… để xác định người nói đang nhắc đến giai đoạn nào.
- Đối với dạng bài chọn 1 trong các options có sẵn, nếu bị lỡ đáp án hay thông tin trong nào đó, hãy tiếp tục nghe câu hỏi kế tiếp. Sau khi kết thúc đoạn băng, bạn có thể quay lại chọn đáp án sau.
- Đối với dạng bài chọn 1 trong các options có sẵn, dành thời gian đầu để dự đoán những lựa chọn có khả năng là đáp án bằng cách suy luận. Cách này sẽ khiến bạn giảm áp lực và bạn chỉ cần nghe để xác nhận lại câu trả lời.
- Đừng cố gắng ghi nhớ hay hiểu tất cả mọi thứ bạn nghe. Thậm chí nếu bạn không hoàn toàn hiểu chủ đề được nói đến, bạn vẫn hoàn toàn có thể nghe những từ có khả năng cao là đáp án đúng.
- Thỉnh thoảng diễn giả sẽ đưa ra những ý kiến hay nói về chủ đề nào đó bạn không đồng tình. Trong trường hợp đó, hãy đứng trên quan điểm độc lập, tập trung nghe và đừng để kinh nghiệm của bản thân tác động đến câu trả lời.
- Xác định trình tự của quá trình, chu kỳ, vị trí của đồ vật xuất hiện trong đề bài
V. Ví dụ + Hướng dẫn giải dạng đề

Hướng dẫn làm bài:
- Giới hạn từ: NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER.
- Bài nghe có thể chủ yếu đề cập đến các tips để chuẩn bị tốt cho kỳ thi, bởi vì tiêu đề là: Advice on exam preparation.
Có 7 giai đoạn được nêu ra trong đề bài:
Giai đoạn 1: Make sure you know the exam requirements.
- Know = understand
- Exam requirements = what you are asked to do in the exam, what to do in the exam, what is required in the exam
Giai đoạn 2: Find some past papers.
- Find = look for
- Past papers = papers of previous exams
Giai đoạn 3: Work out your 1……… for revision and write them on a card.
- Từ cần điền có thể là một danh từ/cụm danh từ.
- Find = look for
- Past papers = papers of previous exams

Giai đoạn 4: Make a 2……. and keep it in a view.
- Từ cần điền sẽ là một danh từ bắt đầu bởi một phụ âm (consonant) vì trước nó là một mạo từ (a).
Giai đoạn 5: Divide revision into 3……. for each day.
- Từ cần điền có thể là một danh từ/cụm danh từ số ít hoặc số nhiều.
- Divide = split
- Each day = every day, daily, on a daily basis
Giai đoạn 6: Write one 4……….. about each topic
- Từ cần điền có thể là một danh từ/cụm danh từ
- Topic = subject
Giai đoạn 7: Practice writing some exam answers.
- Practice = work on, go through
- Nghe kỹ đoạn băng và trả lời câu hỏi

VI. Exercises dạng bài Flow Chart Completion IELTS Listening
| Audio Script: In addition to the information sent from the ship that we have stationed off Antarctica in the south of the Indian Ocean, data are being transmitted round the clock from buoys anchored at various points around the Ocean. Five of these buoys are 1-observing ice packs and icebergs coming into the Indian Ocean from Antarctica. Besides the buoys, data on cloud cover and wind and temperature change are received by satellite. Satellite images are also being used to record the 2- size of the icebergs from the moment they break off from Antarctica. Their course is then mapped as they move out into the Southern Ocean. Here at the Institute, the 3-raw data from the various sources are received and the information is then constantly processed by a 4-bank of computers. Once the data have been collated, the next step in the process is the analysis by 5-experts here and at centers around the world, looking for even the slightest shift in patterns of temperature, wind and sea levels. In the light of the fact that this is a global enterprise, the institute is staffed 24 hours a day with researchers working in shifts and we are in constant contact with centers all around the world. In total, 900 experts from around the globe are involved in the programme. The work at the Institute is now into the fifth year of a ten-year data collection, which began in 2003. |
